Seven Secrets for Spectacular Wedding Photos
- Communicate with your photographer. Did your friend fly in from Europe for your wedding? Did you spend hours designing your programs or finding the perfect shoes? Let your photographer know what is important to you personally.
- Appoint one particular person to be the photographer's go-between. This person can help by rounding up your grandma and your cousin Bob for the group portraits.
- For brides, wear eyeshadow that is not significantly darker than your skin tone. In photos dark eyeshadow tends to make the eyes fade away.
- Consider having at least a portion of the photos done beforehand, unless you have a long time period between the wedding & reception. (You'll be more relaxed, and will have more time to enjoy your reception.)
- Consider multiple or unusual locations for your photos, and be open to suggestions.
- Don't pose every time you see the camera pointed at you. Many of the best, most emotionally laden photos are unposed. Better yet, lose track of the camera completely except for formal shots.
- Let all of your emotions show through. Really experience & enjoy your wedding day and your new spouse!
