Artistic Photographers

There's a third style of photographers that I think of as artistic photographers. Photographers who shoot in this style (and this is the style I fall in) focus on documenting the day in an artistic way. They don't usually pose people much -- at least not in the sense of formal posing: there's no tilt your chin down, lean slightly to the left, clasp your hands together on your knees type posing. But they do frequently set up shots, and they also take lots of candids.

They offer ideas and make suggestions as to what might make a great photo. Some suggestions might include twirling around on the dance floor, leaning up against a wall kissing romantically, taking a quiet moment with your dad, etc. They make sure that the photos are taken with the best possible backgrounds, and that people look and FEEL natural in them. You may also get a few unusual angles, such as overhead shots or shots turned partially sideways. They will also usually do a few formal portraits. They are more flexible, and open to a mix of styles, but the main focus is on creating beautiful, artistic photos that capture your day.
